Kang-Irag Campsite

Kang-Irag Campsite

2023-04-02 Hiking to Mt. Kang-Irag Campsite (Sirao)

Participants from left to right: Casey, Cromwel, Mike and Terje. (4 people and 4 nations – not bad at all!)

This is the route i choose to use, since we had a photographer on board, and there are a lot of nice places to “shoot”. But lots of other options also.

A tiny markup of the walking trail. More or less 1.5km one way.

Sunday April 2nd 2023, we as usual started early from Pajac Lapulapu City at 6AM to avoid traffic as much as possible. Another reason is that the first half of the walking can be done before it gets TOO hot. We are already aware that the first part is a walk in the open and no shadow to hide under.
It was quite clear that a lot of people had been staying over at the camp since the day before, because we met loads and loads of campers already on their way back.
We were considering climbing the Sirao Peak, but we were informed that Deca Homes owns this area above the camp, and guards would have approached us and told us to leave since it is considered a private property.
The walk to the camp site was nice, and we spent 3-4 hours there taking pictures of the fantastic view, and enjoying our lunch we prepared. We all agreed that it has been a nice and relaxing day out, and will for sure go back here later.

We have now arrived and are sitting outside the sari-sari store on the campsite. We are planning to prepare some lunch after we have relaxed for a few minutes.

Starting on our walk back to the parked cars.

Casey in good speed already, despite some “shoe-challenges”.
